This notice explains how FONLAND METAL handles information collected through fonlandmetal.com and its equipment enquiry forms.

Who is responsible

FONLAND METAL is operated by Fonland (Wuhan) Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Our published contact address is 2nd Floor, Building B, Canglongge, Changzui Industrial Park, Gaoxin 6th Road, Jiangxia District, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.

For questions about your information or to make a privacy request, email [email protected] or call +86 173 0710 2359.

Information you provide

Our enquiry form asks for your work email, country or region and message. You may also provide your name, company, equipment interests, project requirements, quantity and timing. Required fields are marked with an asterisk; without them we may be unable to respond usefully.

Submitted enquiries are saved in our website’s WordPress inbox for our team to review. Where a form offers reference-file selection, the form records the file names and sizes only; it does not upload the original file contents. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or unnecessary sensitive personal information in a message or file name.

How we use information

  • To respond to your enquiry, discuss equipment suitability and prepare requested quotations or project information.
  • To maintain the related business correspondence and follow up on the request you made.
  • To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website, including limiting spam and abusive submissions.
  • To understand which enquiry page and, when available, campaign or referring website brought an enquiry to us.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, responding to a request for a quotation or other pre-contract steps may be necessary at your request. Handling business correspondence and protecting the website are based on our legitimate interests in responding to prospective customers and operating a secure service, subject to your rights. Checking the enquiry contact box is not a newsletter subscription.

Technical information and enquiry sources

Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and request times to deliver and protect the site. The enquiry service uses a hashed IP-derived value to limit abuse.

When you submit an enquiry, we may record the page path, non-sensitive campaign labels present in that page’s URL and the referring website’s hostname. We do not attach a full referring URL, its query string or advertising click identifiers to this enquiry-source record. This feature does not add a tracking cookie or a cross-visit visitor identifier.

Browser storage and third-party features

The website may use browser session storage for features such as an enquiry draft you choose to save and the product context for your request. An explicitly saved draft remains in the browser tab’s session until you delete it or that session ends. Login cookies are used for authorised administrators. Security services may use necessary cookies when a security check is required.

We use Cloudflare for website delivery, security and web performance analytics. Its Web Analytics service is designed to work without analytics cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) for its handling of information.

The Contact page includes a Google Maps embed. Loading the map connects your browser to Google, which may receive technical information and use its own cookies according to Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Social-media, WhatsApp and email links take you to the service you choose; that service’s privacy practices apply there.

Optional Google Analytics and your choice

We use optional Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages visitors use and which actions help them contact us. Our Google Analytics code starts only after you select Allow analytics, or when this browser has a still-valid choice to allow it. Before that choice, or after you select Reject analytics, we do not load our Google Analytics tag. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from browsing, using 3D views or submitting an enquiry. This choice is separate from the Google Maps feature described above.

If you allow analytics, Google receives analytics identifiers and technical information about your browser, device and visit, including session and engagement information. Google may derive an approximate location from connection information. Our own analytics events record page visits, opening an enquiry, opening a 3D view, clicking an email or WhatsApp link, and a confirmed successful enquiry submission. A successful-submission event records that the action occurred; it does not include the enquiry itself.

Our event configuration sends a clean page address without URL query strings or fragments, a fixed site title and only the origin of a referring website. It may also send campaign labels that pass our validation. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, selected file names or file contents from enquiry forms to Google Analytics. We do not attach advertising click identifiers to these event records. Automatic Enhanced Measurement is disabled for this stream. Google signals, advertising storage and advertising personalisation are disabled in our website’s analytics configuration.

We store your allow or reject choice in this browser’s local storage. The choice is valid for 180 days; after it expires we ask again before restarting analytics. The preference record may remain in local storage until it is replaced or you clear the site’s storage. If your browser blocks storage, the choice may last only while the page stays open.

After consent, Google Analytics may set the first-party _ga and _ga_Z1QMVWZQBV cookies to distinguish browser visits and maintain session information. We configure these cookies to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on every visit; your browser may shorten their lifetime.

To change your choice, use Analytics settings in the website footer and select Reject analytics. We then stop further Google Analytics collection from this page and remove this site’s accessible Analytics cookies. This does not erase data already collected. You can also clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser. We keep optional analytics off when the browser sends Global Privacy Control or a recognised Do Not Track preference.

For Google’s handling of information, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab) and Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Access, service providers and processing locations

Enquiries are available to authorised staff and website maintainers who need access to handle requests or support the service. The site is hosted on Alibaba Cloud in the United States and uses Cloudflare’s international network. If you allow optional analytics, analytics data is also processed by Google. Our business team operates in China, and these services may process information outside your country. The rules and safeguards that apply to any further transfer depend on the destination and applicable law; contact us for information relevant to your request.

How long information is kept

Retention is assessed by the purpose of the record: whether an enquiry is still active, whether an ongoing business relationship requires the correspondence, and whether applicable legal obligations or a dispute require it to be retained. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request its deletion. Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backup copies until those copies are replaced.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, deletion, restriction of processing or a copy of information in a portable format, and may object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future processing. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and locate your record before acting.

Send requests to [email protected]. You may also raise a concern with the data-protection authority in your country, where applicable. UK visitors can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the website’s data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest published version.
